The former head of the white supremacist Australian Nationalist Movement (ANM) has denied he is behind the latest racist attacks on Asian businesses in Perth.
Racist slogans were sprayed across restaurants and shopping centres overnight in Gosnells, Thornlie and Willetton, and some ANF posters were found.
Jack Van Tongeren spent 13 years in jail for firebombing Asian restaurants in Perth in the late 1980s.
He denies any involvement in the latest vandalism but says he understands why it is happening.
"When they come into our country in an invasion size, numbers against the will of the vast overwhelming majority of the Australian people who've never been asked in a referendum whether they want them or not, they must realise they're not wanted," he said.
"What we want is Australia for the Australians."
Police say they are determined to bring those responsible for the attacks to justice.
Assistant Police Commissioner Wayne Gregson says a big team of experienced officers has been assigned to the case.
"Let's not lose sight of the fact that these are serious offences," he said.
"They relate to damage offences, potential racial vilification ... offences that will not be tolerated in the community.
"We'll be looking at all aspects of that, and then at the end of the day, we'll see where we stand."
