View Full Version : Different sub species or races?
I've been thinking about this earlier this year. Are the different races of Man really sub species? There are different sub species of tigers and I can't tell much difference between them.
But in people, the differences are so great, it'd be ridiculous to ignore them.
I tend to think there's different sub species, but I use the term race by habit.

Races and sub-species mean the same thing. This is why it is profoundly ridiculous when pc zombies say ''race does not exist."
Try using the term "sub species" instead of race outside the internet. I have and the response wasn't too receptive. Of course it was around people I knew. Imagine doing that in a class room full of negroes?

American blacks have been taught that they have the right never to be offended. Jews have the same belief.

'Sub-species' is a more appropriate term when you're dealing with biological differences, 'race' is better to use in the romantic/historical sense.

I think 'culture' is the better word when dealing with a romantic historical context. 'Race' implies the biological.

That's because you're not a tiger. Tigers can tell the difference even if humans can't. Same with other species.

I can tell the difference. Siberian tigers are like twice the size of bangle tigers and almost have saber teeth. And we can all tell the difference between different breeds of dogs can’t we?

Perhaps that analogy was poorly thought out. What I mean is that some species don't look so different to be classified as sub species yet are. We humans, we look vastly different from different peoples, but are classified under the same, homo sapiens. I've yet to come to a book that gives classification to the races as sub species but I heard the older books do.
Interesting info about the siberian tigers, Dan. I didn't know that about their teeth.

Breeds of dogs aren't produced by natural selection the way the greater races of humans were.
The differentiations between the greater human races is not as wide or distinct as those observed between most subspecies of other living things.
