November 22, 2004 - LAST WEEK’S HIGHLIGHTS
At Worcester (11/18): The Monarchs shut out the Worcester IceCats, 6-0 at the DCU Center on Thursday night. Goaltender Mathieu Garon earned his fourth shutout of the season, stopping all 29 shots he faced. The Monarchs lit the lamp with goals from center Yanick Lehoux, right wing George Parros, left wing Noah Clarke, right wing Brad Smyth, center Michael Cammalleri and right wing Dan Welch. IceCats goaltender Curtis Sanford took the loss for Worcester, stopping 25 shots. Both the Monarchs and IceCats went 0-4 on the power play.
Vs. Lowell (11/19): Center Michael Cammalleri scored a hat trick in the Monarchs 5-4 shootout victory over the Lowell Lock Monsters on Friday night at the Verizon Wireless Arena. Goaltender Mathieu Garon replaced Adam Hauser at the beginning of the third period and shut down the Lock Monsters through the final period, overtime and the ensuing shootout for the win. Hauser stopped 19 of the 23 shots he faced through two periods. Center Matt Ryan also found the back of the net for the Monarchs. Center Dustin Brown and right wing Tom Kostopoulos scored for the Monarchs during the shootout.
The Lock Monsters had goals from center Mike Zigomanis, left wing Justin Taylor, defenseman Richie Regehr and defenseman Allan Rourke. Manchester went 3-8 on the power play and Lowell was 1-5.

The Monarchs were 1-4 on the power play and the IceCats were 1-3.

Center Yanick Lehoux matched his goal total for all of the 2003-04 season (14 goals in 66 games) with his 14th goal of this campaign, scored on Sunday night in the Monarchs 5-4 win over the Worcester IceCats at the DCU Center.
Lehoux, who leads the American Hockey league with 29 points (14-15=29), added two assists in the contest. The third-round selection of the Los Angeles Kings (86th overall) in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft leads the Monarchs with six three-point games this season.
Lehoux is also tied with right wing Tom Kostopoulos for the team lead with 10 multi-point games this season. The 22-yearold native of Repentigny, Quebec, has scored at least two points in each of his last five games and has 12 points (5-7=12) during the five-game scoring streak.
Lehoux, who collected his first game-winning goal of the season in the Monarchs 6-0 win over the IceCats on Thursday night in Worcester, ranks second in the league with 14 goals and along with Kostopoulos ranks third in the league with 15 assists.
Lehoux leads the AHL with a .326 shooting percentage (14 for 43).
The Monarchs have been involved in consecutive one-goal games. They opened the season with no one-goal games over their first 13 contests.
The Monarchs streak of scoring the first goal of a game ended 13 games into the 2004-05 season. The Lowell Lock Monsters broke the streak by scoring first in their game with the Monarchs at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Friday night.
The Monarchs rallied to win that game, 5-4, by outlasting the Lock Monsters in the first-ever shootout in Monarchs history.
Left wing Dustin Brown was credited with the game-winning goal in the game. He and Kostopoulos scored in the shootout against Lowell netminder Cam Ward. Meanwhile, Monarchs goaltender Mathieu Garon took the win by stopping all four Lowell shootout attempts.

Center Michael Cammalleri stretched his scoring streak to 11 games on Sunday night with a goal against the IceCats.
Cammalleri, selected by the Kings in the second-round (49th overall) in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, has 10 goals and 19 points (10-9=19) during the streak, the longest in the AHL this season.
Cammalleri, who leads the Monarchs with six power play goals, set a new team record by registering three power play goals in one game against the Lock Monsters on Friday night.
Cammalleri’s six power play markers are tied for first in the AHL.
Cammalleri leads the Monarchs and the AHL with four game-winning goals. The native of Richmond Hill, Ontario, picked up his fourth game-winner of the season on Sunday night against the IceCats.
