In 1944 did the German people still believe that Germany would win the war ?
In 1945 did the german soldier think that there was any hope that they would be spared occupation by the Russians ?
In both cases , what makes you say "yes" or " No" in each case ?

A few of the German people believed the propaganda about secret weapons that would save Germany, but generally no. As for the officier corps few but the most extreme fanatics thought there was any hope by the end of 1943. Even Sepp Dietrich for instance thought the war was lost.
