For me. Because tomorrow I am going to go see Vince Neil (yes, of Motley Crue) and the Blue Oyster Cult for only $25. What a steal. Anyone seen either live?
Old washed-up rock stars are great.

The Beach Boys, Boston, Journey, The Doors of the 21st Century are also playing at this festival, but unfortunately I can't go the whole weekend.
And I've also been informed that my friends band will be opening for WASP, in Calgary on August 29th. I'm so there. Edana you should come too :D

Sure, I've seen Vince Neil play live, back in 1986 ("Theater Of Pain" Tour?), refer to my "Mick Mars is the real scarface" thread on Skadi.
And I have seen Blue Öyster Cult quite a while ago, when their album "Club Ninja" came out. BÖC, Black Sabbath and Uriah Heep are still bands one can enjoy 30 years after the became famous. Unliek Deep Purple, for example.
W.A.S.P. I saw in my hometown on their "Winged Assassins European Tour". Complete with topless virgin to sacrifice, lots of artificial blood and pyros. All of them no biggie here in Germany, as there is no PMRC. ;)
Heck, I just looked it up, "Club Ninja" came out in 1986. I'm such an old fart. Could somebody please shoot me? ;)

Tell Vince that we won't forget who killed Razzle Dingley and that Hanoi Rocks was a better band than Mötley Crüe.
Fate is not kind to certain bands. Two promising bands - one from the '80s (Hanoi Rocks) and another from the early 1990s (Mother Love Bone) - were cut down before they had a chance to bask fully in the spotlight.
Hanoi Rocks first formed in Finland in 1980, as the founding members finished their apprenticeships with a number of Finnish punk bands. (Bet you didn't think there was one punk band in Finland.) The nucleus of Hanoi Rocks consisted of vocalist Michael Monroe, guitarists Andy McCoy and Nasty Suicide (one of the better punk pseudonyms), bassist Sam Yaffa and original drummer Gyp Casino. Combining the best aspects of the Sweet, Mott the Hoople and the New York Dolls, and affecting a sort of "gypsy glam" look, the group took aim at the European market. After releasing their first 2 albums Bangkok Shocks,Saigion Shakes, Hanoi Rocks, and Oriental Beat, Hanoi Rocks signed to CBS, and recorded their breakthrough album Two Steps From The Move. Although not as quirky and eclectic the New York Dolls ish Oriental Beat, the album garnered attention for the band in America. The energetic but easy choice of a first single, CCR's Up Around The Bend got Hanoi Rocks on MTV, alongside the more generic hard rock bands of the day. The other well-known track, the sweet and deeply melancholy love song Don't You Ever Leave Me was sung with too much genuine emotion to be called a true "monster ballad."
Just as the band was generating a buzz in the U.S., drummer Razzle had the misfortune of joining Motley Crue's Vince Neil for a drunken joy ride one night. Neil returned, Razzle didn't, and the Neil's trial for vehicular manslaughter caused quite a stir in the music world. Hanoi Rocks dropped out of sight after that, releasing a few CDS in the late '80s - All Those Wasted Years and Self-Destruction Blues that went virtually unnoticed. Singer Michael Monroe released a solo album in 1989 and still remains a cult figure in some circles. Along with Yaffa and Suicide, Monroe formed Demolition 23 in the mid-90s.

The Doors of the 21st Century was probably the best gig I've been to in the last year or so. Any chance any of you get, go see them.

I figured you would probably have seen him. :p I haven't seen that thread though. I remember back in '86, I was about two years old. Good times, wild parties (in my diapers)
All of them no biggie here in Germany, as there is no PMRC. ;)
Tipper Gore is a *****.

Petri Danger Valkinnen in the year of 99
Yo, crackbiotchsucker

Feel like a streetshark
Drive like an old fart

Drunken driver

Alarm is ringin'

You missed the red light

Stop!
There's a message in a bottle:
Ratiriti ralla

Tuolta pohjan tunturila
Lapin lasten laitumilta
Ratiriti ralla
sieltä tuli halla
this is Finnish
but not the end
Chorus:
Müntefering!
Chorus:
Eyes like a pink punk
smell like a drunk skunk
Speedy like a batman

Alarm is ringin'

What is 'Blue Oyster Cult', and who is 'Vince Neil', what is good about them, and how is twenty-five dollars a 'steal' (i.e., what is the normal price)?

I seen BOC. I think it was when Cultosaurus Erectus came out, 1980. My first concert. Seen them with Fog Hat and Pat Travers.

$25 dollars are less than the value of the amount of labor put into the show. Vince Neil is being exploited.

I once got spammed with an ad for some pornstar's old panties. Out of morbid curiosity, I followed the website link. Sure enough, it was some anorexic, plastic E-cup, wench selling her lingerie. The prices went as high as $500 and no lower than $50. Many of the items were marked 'sold'. How the hell does this square with the labor theory of value? What 'labor' did this gal expend in order to produce this product?
Edana

She queefed in them.

LOL
Seriously though, such examples show that the economic 'value' of a product is utterly subjective. One buyer's trash is another's treasure. Many expensive products arguably take no real 'labor' to produce.

Exactly. To you, Candy Canyon's (or whatever her name was) lingerie would probably not be worth a nickel. To the next guy, the same item might be worth $500. Comments, Ixabert?

Another example how women can even make bucks out of their dirty laundry while us guys have to toil in the coal mines.

Vince Neil got in a car accident and hurt his leg LOL But he still played the show. I suspect there really was no accident and he just felt a little lazy. The bassist was just as stylin' as Nikki Sixx and wore a great hat and nice tight pants. I got kicked in the ear and the head quite a few times by loser crowd-surfers, so I'm probably even more stupid now. :p Overall a really good time. When BOC came on everyone started chanting "more cowbell" :| When they played 'Dont Fear the Reaper" the cowbell was just perfect so I'm sure no one was disappointed.
Some people had campsites complete with couches. Four days without a couch! Oh the horror. I saw a big sign at one that said "Dont Fear the Reefer", which is mildly funny but not quite clever, and just walking to the portable toilet was an adventure because pretty much everyone was drunk and just happy to not be at work and to have alcohol. I wish I could have stayed the whole weekend, today the Beach Boys are playing.

That's what you get for living in the boonies of Canuckistan. Here in Phlegetown we get all the top acts in a 20 miles radius. So if you ever come here for your exorcism there may be some good shows as collateral bonus.

This area is most famous for metal, punk and rockabilly shows - as far as the underground is concerned. And then of course you have all the commercial pop events here as well. In this regard it isn't too bad to live in an extended metropolitan area with a population of roughly 12 million.
