Obviously unions are obsolete in the modern age and end up fucking over everyone in their path. However, it must be great to be a union member as a government worker because of the huge benefits and outrageous pensions even if convicted of corruption while a government employee.

If Bush and that idiot Snow have any regard for the economy, they should step in and find a way to reconcile the differences between the players' union and the owners. The world's greatest team sport is a victim of the anti-white racist establishment.

Gretzky concerned two NHL seasons could be lost, not just one without deal

GRAND FORKS, N.D. - Wayne Gretzky is concerned that if the NHL and the players' association don't agree to a new collective bargaining agreement soon, not just this season, but next season will also be lost.

"If this is not decided in the next few days, I'm scared we could be looking at a year, a year and a half, two years, not just three months like a lot of people thought in September, " Gretzky said Sunday during a news conference at the world junior hockey championship. "From April to October, the players don't get paid, so I can't see us coming to an agreement in August or September.

"If we don't find a way to make everyone who is part of this sort of happy and get a deal done, we could be looking at a long, long time before hockey is played in the NHL and that's very alarming too. I hope in the next couple weeks we can come to an agreement."

Gretzky also denied recent published reports that the Phoenix Coyotes franchise is for sale. Gretzky is a minority owner and a managing partner of the club.

"The team is not for sale," Gretzky said. "If it was for sale I would tell you guys, but it's not. There's really no truth to the story at all."

The owners and the players are all greedy bastards. Anybody making more than a million bucks a year nowadays really has no right to whine about their salary.

I guess that would be within the federal gubmint's powers under the interstate hockey clause.

The conditions outlined in the 1947 Taft-Hartley Act do not have to be met in order for Presidential or other governmental intervention in resolving strikes.

Canucks' ecomony feels ripple effect of obselete union activity.

Puck maker cuts staff in half as NHL lockout drags on

January 16, 2005
QUEBEC (AP) -- The NHL's official puck supplier has laid off half its staff, a result of the hockey lockout that entered its 123rd day on Sunday.

InGlasCo, of Sherbrooke, Quebec, laid off 20 of about 40 employees from a plant that normally produces about 300,000 pucks and souvenirs for the 30 NHL teams.

``The business has been down since September, we haven't shipped anything to any NHL teams, no souvenir or licensed products,'' said Denis Drolet, president of Groupe Drolet, the parent company of InGlasCo and the Sher-Wood stick manufacturer.

With the lockout, 640 regular-season games had not been played through Sunday.

``We sell to teams, we sell to the retail side,'' he said. ``Retailers have no reason to buy NHL product. They have no interest and no demand for it.''

Minor and junior league teams make up the other half of the company's business.

I'd like to see you lasting 10 minutes on the filed playing that 'pussy game'. Wonder where you ignorant yanks get that idea that the sport is a pussy game.

I don't care if a sport is tough or not, but rather that it's interesting.

Hey bro, I never said hockey was a pussy game. I just said that nobody in America gives a shit. I actually know the rules and such from playing NHL Faceoff, just don't follow it. There's a minor league hockey team in Houston. It's pretty fun to go watch cause there's not many people there and you can get drunk and rowdy.

The NHL blew it. After the baseball strike a few years back, people started getting into hockey, but I think this is now the second strike they've had since then.

You mean like standing around for ten minutes with my thumb in my ass while the ball is repeatedly lobbed from one end of the field to the other? Hell, if I could smoke at the same time, I could do that for the whole 90. Any "sport" where the possible outcome is a 0-0 tie, is fucking homosexual.
And we're not all "yanks" ya damn frog. But anyway, let's not turn this into a "pissing contest" ;) I might have to "spam" you with PMs about how Tony Twist could kick Pele's ass :D

Okay, well, then PMs about how Tony could kick Dennis Beckham's or Eric Wynalda's ass (sorry those are the only other soccer fags I know).

Is Tony white?

Yes the Twister is White as is Rob Ray who I think he is battling with in the pic. The NHL has changed regarding fighting and most of the best NHL fighters are retired, but there are still a few fighters in the league and there are three excellent NHL fighters who are Black.
