EYTYXEITE!
Dear CONSTANTINUS stop to publish your nice polls unless to put something about Horse-riding! I don't know a hell concerning Football! I'm absolutely ignorant!!
Oh, my Zeus!

LOL, it's ok. Feel free to open your own poll about horseriding of course. It's a sport too, and there are probably some people among the members who ride horses themselves. I'd open one, but I don't know anything of it. Next time there's an important contest in horseracing (I suppose that part of the Olympics is already over), open one, please.
best regards

Arsenal to win .As for the groups:
A : Olympiakos out . Can't tell who'll get the axe between the 3 others .
B : Kiev out, with either AS Roma or Leverkusen, prolly the later ..
C : Tel-Aviv out, touch choice between the other 3, I'd go Ajax/Juve .
D : the easy one , I guess ... ManU and the OL
E : Arsenal PSV or maybe Arsenal Rosenborg
F : Barca, AC
G : Werder, Inter
H : Porto, Chelsea

Why Arsenal? They're a good team, but they never even reached the semifinals of the tournament. They always seem to lack that last touch to be really great.

That's true .
But they're on a roll, and their side appears even stronger than it was last year (with, for exemple, players like Reyes showing they are powerhouses to be ), and maybe this year Arsene will find the way to manage his threefold ( premiership, FAcup, CL) challenge.

Are you English? Are you following the Premier League? I'd love to follow it, but it's hard unless you go watching BBC all the time. That new guy with Liverpool, Cissé, I hope he'll be good, better than Owen who should have never left. (I support Liverpool in England)

I'm French, but am following the premiership .
I more or less "follow" all the major 5 european leagues, but premiership is my fav .
That new guy with Liverpool, Cissé, I hope he'll be good, better than Owen who should have never left. (I support Liverpool in England)
Cisse is quite good .
He's been top goal -scorer in the french ligue 1 in 01/02 and 03/04 ; overall, he has netted 70 goals in 128 games for Auxerre.
He's fast, rather powerful, and has a good shot, especially at long range, with both feet , and can head failry well too .
However, I think he's a pure striker, you need a guy to fuel him with balls, as he is not very likely to go and fetch them himself, and even less likely to fall back and defend .
Between him and Barros, Liverpool should be ok .

Oh yes, they'll go far. I saw them trash my team. Bruges isn't a worldteam, but they're definately not some pushover. They eliminated Dortmund last year, and won in Milan, who was then defending the title. We didn't even play bad, but were bested in almost any way. Donetsk has fast players, superb technique, and the combinations are lightning fast. Quarter finals, is my estimate.

Valencia won the European supercup today. beat Porto 1-2, Valencia could be a contender for the Champion's League too.

You have it easy in the first round of the UEFA cup : Chateauroux is a second division team who qualified as finalists of the french cup because winner PStG was qualified for the CL by virtue of being 2nd of the championship . The French Millwall, so to speak ...

I'm not certain Porto looks as good as it did like season, they have lost a few key players .
Anyone know the composition of their squad ?

I just checked it out, their website hasn't been updated yet it seems. Porto won't be as good, but I still expect them to reach the quarterfinals. In any case, I doubt it'll matter much since the site still has the playerslist of last season, but here it is:

Yeah, waay outdated .
Alenitchev's playing for Spartak Moscow
Ricardo Carvalho and Paulo Ferreira have followed Mourinho @ Chelsky
Deco is playing for the Barca ( and was rather uninspired yesterday)

LOL, Conceicao left too, he's with Standard Liege now. That idiot picked the suckiest team in western Europe, and he got sent off after 15 minutes in his first game. Way to go, hehe. He's ruining his career with Liege.

Sergio Conceicao ?
Cause at first I thought you were talking about Falvio Concecaio, who signed from the Real to galatasaray ...
A paralell there : both are 30 yo players, going to inferior teams, But I think a Gala move is better than going to the Standard :p

Absolutely. I have no idea what he's looking for with Standard Liege. If you come to belgium from a big competition, the only teams here which have a chance of playing CL are Anderlecht and Bruges. He's wasting his time with Liege (to be honest, I wouldn't want him with Bruges, he's a hasbeen who'll demand a pay three times more than what he's worth).

That awful Anderlecht lost :D . Bremen beat Valencia, second time already this edition that a German team beats a Spanish one. I never liked the Spanish teams (too arrogant) so this CL is starting quite well for me. Too bad my team got eliminated by some Ukrainian mobsters :( .

You should find consolation in the fact their momentum is unlikely to last for much longer.
