How is it a "worthless anecdote"? If Jews do not like part-Jews, it does not *matter* that they are part Jewish, because even if they act it, they won't get any of the leg-ups that the Jewish community uses to advance itself. They will not be regarded as part of the group by "Real Jews". How is that "worthless"?

I mean, honestly, what matters is how they "self-identify"? Huh? How would you feel towards someone half-black half-white who identified as white? I doubt you'd feel much charity towards them.

In Judaism, Jewish identity is transferred through the MOTHER. Back a year or 2 ago, Jewish groups in Germany tried to deny the "right of return" to Russian Jews because even though they had been counted as Jews, they were not Jewish in the mother's lineage.

There is no such thing as a half-Jew. They are not treated as Jews by the Jewish community, they are not treated as Jews by the religion. It's like calling a part-black person white. It makes no sense.
